The biggest Trade Show ever to take place in Obuasi took off today at the forecourt of the Len Clay Sports Stadium commonly known as the Black Park.The event which is set to continue till Saturday 21st of December 2019 will bring together buyers and sellers across the city.
The Obuasi Trade show is a collaboration between Anglogold Ashanti Ghana Limited and the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI), to develop the business acumen of local enterprises in the golden city. This is the second edition of the trade show and it is under the theme “Diversifying the Economy of Obuasi through Trade Promotion”.
The Obuasi Trade Show targeted more than 200 SMEs in Obuasi and is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry to provide support for local enterprises and entrepreneurs to enable them exhibit their products and establish partnerships in order to expand their businesses.
Speaking at the launch of the trade show, Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, Senior Sustainability Manager of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine, said the Mine has been working and will continue to work with the local assemblies and traditional rulers to make Obuasi better than it was before the coming of the Mine.
