Billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote is now richer than the owner of English Premier league side, Chelsea Football Club as the wealth of the Nigerian industrialist surges on the billionaire indexes. Aliko has recorded significant wealth growth due to proceeds from his cement Manufacturer, the Dangote cement PLC.
A share buy back drive by the Dangote group increased his Net worth to $20.4 billion as reported by popular indexes and credit rating schemes. The Chelsea boss on the other hand has his net worth rated by Bloomberg to be $15.4B.
According to current ratings, Aliko Dangote occupies 83rd position on the world’s billionaire list whilst Abramovich 124th position. The Nigerian billionaire could run several steps ahead of the Chelsea boss if proceeds from his oil refinery which is estimated to cost an amount of $19 billion add to his wealth.
Abramovich is equally a business magnate who is into diverse ventures. Apart from sports which he is popularly known for, he owns stakes in Norilsk Nickel, the world’s largest producer of refined nickel. The Russian billionaire businessman is the largest shareholder of Evraz, Russia’s second largest steelmaker.
Apart from the cement industry, sugar among other businesses, Aliko is also looking to venture into sports by bidding to purchase Premier league side, Arsenal FC; a deal he promised to seal soon after completing his refinery project.
